Dr. Giriraj Bora is one of the youngest Consultant Liver Transplant and Gastrointestinal (HPB) Surgery. Dr. Giriraj Bora holds a degree from JL N Medical College, Ajmer. Before starting as a Senior Resident in General Surgery at Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS) in Lucknow, he did his training in General Surgery at the same facility. At GB Pant Hospital, Delhi, he later joined the MCh program in Gastrointestinal Surgery super specialty, where he underwent training for three years. Dr. Bora worked as a Consultant General Surgeon in Jaipur after completing his training before deciding to pursue a career in liver transplantation.
He started his professional journey with CLBS in 2011 as a Fellow in Liver Transplantation and Gastrointestinal Surgery (HPB) and has undergone comprehensive training in all aspects of Liver Transplantation and Gastrointestinal Surgery (HPB).
Dr. Borah received a job offer as a consultant at CLBS in January 2013. Dr. Borah is a dedicated member of the primary surgical team at our facility and plays an integral role in the evaluation of liver donors prior to liver transplants.
He specializes in pancreatic surgery (pancreaticoduodenectomy and Whipple surgery), combined liver and kidney transplantation, liver transplantation, and hepatectomy for malignant liver tumors that occur during inferior portal vein (IVC) closure in living donor liver transplantation (LDLT).
Dr. Giriraj Bora has several publications in the field of liver transplant surgery, as well as several presentations at national and international conferences, including the famous ILTS conferences in San Francisco in 2012 and Sydney in 2013, organized by the International Society of Liver Transplantation.
