Dr. Amit Nath Rastogi brings over 24 years of experience and a wealth of knowledge and competence in Surgical Gastroenterology (Gastroenterology) and Liver Transplant as a result of time spent with many reputed hospitals across the country.
At Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in New Delhi, where he participated in the first and largest liver transplant program in the country, he completed a two-year fellowship in liver transplant surgery. Dr. Amit has received advanced training in Robotic HPB and Liver Surgery at Grosseto, Italy and ERCAD Strasbourg, France respectively. He has published a number of articles in national and international journals as well as giving numerous speeches and invited papers in his area of expertise.Robotic and minimally invasive surgery of the biliary tract, as well as living-donor liver transplants, are procedures that he is very interested in performing.
Living donor liver transplantation (LDLT) and complex hepatobiliary procedures are of particular interest to Dr. Amit Rastogi. He has developed a wealth of surgical gastroenterology and liver transplant experience.
He is the director of the Liver Transplant Team at Medanta, who founded the Liver Transplant Institute, which is the largest liver transplant facility in India and a world-renowned program. The institute performed the majority of firsts in the field of liver transplantation.
The team has performed more than 4,000 liver transplants, with success rates in excess of 92%.
Selected as Treasurer of Liver Transplant Society of India (LTSI) for two years 2018-2020. It is a founding member of LTSI.
