Indian Liver Donation Guidelines
In order to benefit from a liver transplant in India, the government follows certain rules, procedures, and standards.
The kinship between the two parties must be clearly and confidently proven
The donor must be between the ages of 18 and 55.
Living donors must be in good mental health
Having a donor who is healthy and physically fit enhances the outcome
To request consent for transplantation, the recipient and the donor must submit an application on Form 11 and Certificate of Treatment from the liver transplant surgeon to Jeevandan AP, Chairman of the Authorization Committee.
The medical supervisor submits the application with all the required papers, with a proposal for transplantation. The hospital from which the application is transferred will receive the decision of the commission, but not the recipient directly.
Personal family structure certificates must list the parents, siblings, spouse, sons, and daughters along with their names, ages, and addresses.
Consent given especially to a patient, donor, hospital and doctor (transplant surgeon) who submits the application to the committee; It cannot be moved.
No foreigner is allowed to get a transplant from an Indian donor. They are able to bring a donor from their country who is legally authorized or sent to India by their embassy for transplantation.
The patient receives a No Objection Certificate from the High Commission of the patient’s country in India, which is later handed over to the hospital.
The Authorization Committee will be consulted in this case for approval. To obtain permission, the patient must submit all required papers.
